// Our Mission
Riot Shield Games was founded on a single conviction: the time people pour into games should give something back. Not just entertainment, but rather real knowledge, real skills, real growth.
Most educational software feels like a punishment. We believe learning can be as addictive as the best games on the market because it already is, when done right. The kanjicite crafting system in Spyke doesn’t teach characters; it makes you need them. The falling-block mechanic in Kanji Drop doesn’t quiz vocabulary; it makes vocabulary survival.
We don’t add education to games. We build games where learning is the game.
// By the Numbers
// The Studio
Riot Shield Games is an independent game studio based in Huntington Beach, California - a subsidiary of International Technology Consulting, LLC. We operate at the intersection of technology, education, and game design, with a team that brings MIT-level rigor to every system we build.
Our flagship mobile title, Kanji Drop, launched to critical acclaim and has since been downloaded more than 500,000 times. It’s been featured by Coto Academy, Tofugu, GamesKeys, Chopsticks NY, and dozens of educators worldwide who recommend it as a supplement to formal Japanese study.
Chinese Drop brought the same falling-block language engine to Mandarin learners, supporting both Traditional and Simplified characters across all HSK levels. A Stitch in Time stepped outside the mobile space entirely - a VR and 3D art installation powered by MIT En-ROADS climate data, featured at Caltech during LA Climate Week 2025.
All of this has been preparation for what’s next: The Adventure of Spyke, a classically styled 3D top-down action RPG designed from the ground up by an MIT-educated nanotechnologist and developer, Rajay Kumar, PhD, where mastering languages, STEM, and real-world finance are woven seamlessly into the adventure itself.
// How We Build
// Parent Company
Riot Shield Games operates as a subsidiary of International Technology Consulting, LLC - a technology company that builds at the frontier of software, education, and digital infrastructure.
The ITC umbrella provides the engineering depth that lets a studio like Riot Shield Games tackle systems as complex as the kanjicite crystal engine or a real-time VR climate simulator - while staying focused on making those systems feel like play.
